Living in the Philippines is difficult. Prices of commodities are going up. Prices of services are going up. Traffic jams are getting longer. Pollution is getting thicker. Transportation fares are going up as well. Sweldo na lang ang hindi tumataas! You have to hang on tight to your budget. Mahirap magkasakit dahil wala kang budget magkasakit.
Can you relate? I know I can. I used to work in the BPO industry. Tulog sa umaga, gising sa gabi. Do you know the feeling na gusto mo magtrabaho sa kursong tinapos mo but the most available job is the one that puts you at risk to anemia, hyperacidity, hypertension and obesity?
Are you familiar in an office setting where free-flowing coffee is available from Monday to Friday? Without noticing it, you would’ve consumed up to 63.75 liters of coffee in a year if you are drinking 250mL of coffee every night at work! Some of my colleagues then developed hyperacidity. Do you know anyone in your office who has that too?
If not hyperacidity, then anemia and vertigo. I know some former colleagues who turned anemic after working in the night shift. I personally experienced vertigo. It was scary because hindi mo alam kung saan ka na lang babagsak. I experienced forcing myself to work even with vertigo and U could barely walk straight. I had to walk where there is a wall to keep from tumbling down. Even when sitting, everthing felt like spinning around you. Have you experienced that?
Another common risk is hypertension and obesity. Sedentary lifestyle – sitting on a chair while for 8 hours while eating and working is a sure way to rise up your clinical blood pressure. It’s also the easiest way to tip the weighing scale to max weight. I know because I gained 85 lbs over 6 years working in the BPO. How about you? Nagtimbang ka na ba? Ikaw na yung nagsasabing, “ang pasensya ko mahaba pa, pero ang mga damit ko wala na magkasya”?
I’ve been there. I know and I’ve felt your struggles. It’s scary when your health is your asset. Hindi ka nga athlete. Pero yung absence mo kaltas sa sweldo mo. Swerte ka pa nga may paid sick leave (SL) ka, kasi yung iba wala.
You’re lucky if your company you work for provides health card. Some companies do not give that benefit.
How about when you reach retirement age of 60? Have you thought about sustaining your health when you’re no longer “employable”? Hihintayin mo pa ba yung panahon na yun bago mo alagaan sarili mo? How about the damage to your body today that you are still young and “employable”?
What happens when the company you work for considers you a liability rather than an asset? Do you think you would have health card na sasalo sayo? What happens then to your children or grandchildren who needs your support? You may be supporting your parents. What happens then when your salary gets deducted because you run out of paid sick leave?
I was an employee and I know your struggles. The sooner you talk to your body, the sooner you can prepare. I made this website to help you keep your family and yourself in good health. I made this website to make it easy and convenient for you to order affordable and effective vitamins. I made this website because I know what it feels like to love. You and I both know that we’ll do whatever it takes to make sure they are safe and healthy. We both know that we’ll do everything to keep them with us.
Mahirap ang buhay pero bakit ka pa din lumalaban? Ikaw, sinong mahal mo? Ginawa ko itong website na ito para sayo. Para sa minamahal. Para sa nagmamahal.
